Forms of Government Part2

“Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.”

~Benjamin Franklin

Those words say it all, there is nowhere else in history that best describes the forma of government of DEMOCRACY best.  In essence it is mob rule mentality.  Just vote on something and whatever the majority votes becomes law.  You want John Doe’s property, just vote and obtain 51% of the vote.

From the time of Socrates, Aristotle, and Plato they believed that democracy was one of the worst forms of government just for the mob mentality voting.

Our founding father’s belied this same thing based upon their vast knowledge of the other forms of governments and based upon their studies of both past and their present philosophers of government.

One definition of democracy is “government by the people; a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system.”  This tells us that we would be voting on every single thing where there was a dilemma.  We would not have a representative in Congress or the Senate, we would be our own representatives. Of course this brings to mind the observation by Alexander Tytler, a lesser know founding father, who said,

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largess of the public treasury. From that time on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the results that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship….

And lo and behold, we and our fellow Americans are doing just that, aren’t they?  Every time there is a vote to place someone in an office that person is promising the world, added benefits, or some other entitlement.  By doing this we each vote away our taxes paid in to the system just to hand it to someone else who chose to just live up to the expectations of the Nanny State mentality.

Though we are constantly hearing from our representatives, our government, the news media, etc. this country is a Democracy, in fact, it is not.  This country is a Republican form of government and it is promised in the US Constitution (Article IV, section 4) which states, “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.”

Even though we have each finished school and moved on to start families, it is very important to study government, history of both the US and the rise and fall of nations.  It very important that we impart this knowledge on to our children and grand children so that they will know, because they are apparently not learning it in the public school system (a.k.a., Public Fool System.)

I hope you enjoyed this piece of information and hope it sparked and interest.

I find this picture to be representative of what I believe about this country.  You can see it one of two ways: 1 the symbolic nature of this country is being decimated and is slowly eroding away, or 2 the country and the symbol which it represents is being reborn and rising from the ashes.  I believe both are true and representative of what is happening in this country and it is all at the behest and vote of the people.  True patriots will cause it to rise once again.  I believe this and learn as much as possible along the road so that I will one day take my place, in what meager position I take, to help represent the people and first and foremost protect their rights!

In The News…

Yesterday a Naval Drone crashed in Maryland, luckily without injury or property damage.  However, it does beg the question: Why are they flying them here in the US?  It is not a border issue; most immigrants are not sailing this far up the eastern shoreline to get to the US; so, what is the case??

There are many who are classified as “Conspiracy Theorists” who say that at some point in time the Sheriff’s Department will be completely done away with – that is actually a bad thing, because the Sheriff is an elected official AND is the last line of defense for the People.  The Sheriff can actually stop Federal Government intervention in any county of the state.  I did not know that until a few years ago.  To make matters worse, these “Conspiracy Theorists” also say that the Metropolitan Police Departments will at some point in time be absorbed by the Military, hmmmmm.  Now that is very concerning to me!  Take a good hard look at how well the Police are being armed, they are receiving much equipment and armament equivalent to the Military.  Just recently, the FCC and FAA were in deliberations concerning Drone use within the borders of the US.  Don’t get me wrong, I believe that the Officers of the Peace should be armed well enough to do their job; however, is it their job to protect us?  The US Supreme Court has said NO time and again.  One of the biggest cases I am aware of was a 1981 case, Warren v. District of Columbia.  The case itself was very graphic, a horrific experience I would wish upon no one!  The decision of the US Supreme Court was the following, in a nutshell (and yes my jaw dropped like a lead brick, too!):

“By a 4-3 decision the court decided that Warren was not entitled to remedy at the bar despite the demonstrable abuse and ineptitude on the part of the police because no special relationship existed. The court stated that official police personnel and the government employing them owe no duty to victims of criminal acts and thus are not liable for a failure to provide adequate police protection unless a special relationship exists.

Yes, you read that right.  Only you have a duty to protect yourself!  Each and every time we say “YES” on a ballot to yield more of our rights and liberties to our Representational Government, we are also saying “NO” I don’t want to have to take care of myself.  Each and every time that happens you loose rights, liberties, and property – and at no time do you gain anything in return from those you gave it up to.  There are other quotes, even more to the point, but Ben Franklin always had a bit of wisdom in his words:

“They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” ~Benjamin Franklin

Our rights and liberties as Americans are slowly being decimated, our kids and grand-kids are being trained up in a way that they should be more of a collective and communal mindset, hmmmmm!  That should be very bothersome to us all.  History repeats itself all of the time.  Why, you may ask?  Because we are teaching our children revisionist history by cutting out the things we don’t like and revising other things to be more warm and fluffy.  The youth are the key to the future of any society, just take it from this professional:

“He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future.” ~Adolf Hitler

Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it” ~Adolf Hitler

How fortunate for leaders that men do not think.” ~Adolf Hitler

Do you ever get the feeling that the representation of this country has gotten so far out of touch with the People, that they have no concept of reality?  Take, for example, Charlie Rangle (D-IL) who complained about his Tax problem, a few years ago, that you needed two lawyers to do your taxes because the Tax Laws were so complex and convoluted.  REALLY?  He was on the subcommittee for the Taxes of this country – how could he not understand what he had written? Which brings us to my previous blog entry, a quote by James Madison who stated:

“It will be of little avail to the people if the laws are so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood”

There was a time where the people knew the law, understood it, and defended themselves in court.  It seems that our country’s representation has become so far out of touch from those whom the SERVE that they honestly believe themselves to be the rulers.  And with such a God-like mindset, they write up laws that are so ambiguous and convoluted that we just bow our heads and nod in agreement and servitude.  Hermann Goering spoke a few words that truly catches one’s attention:

“Education is dangerous – every educated person is a future enemy.”

and of course the infamous words at the Nuremberg Trials

the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.

So, how pliable is your mind?  And do you agree with your Representatives and all their rhetoric?  What is the purpose of flying drones in US airspace?  Safety, hmmmm?  Safety of whom??  The People?  You really believe that?

“Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.”
George Washington (1732-1799)

As I close this blog entry, I leave you with a warning from 1961 by President Eisenhower (Pres. Eisenhower’s Farewell Address) concerning the “military industrial complex.”  It is only 2 and a half minutes but it is a worthwhile moment in history for each of us to reflect on how powerful the government has grown, the military powers at hand and the memory of the military aiding the Parish County Sheriff by disarming law abiding citizens during Hurricane Katrina.  I thought it odd that both the military and the Sheriff’s Dept took oaths to their respective offices to Support and Defend the Constitution of the United States (and the Sheriff also was to support the State’s Constitution and laws), yet they violated one of the most basic rights a person possesses as a natural and unalienable right of self preservation.

Be forewarned my friends and be ever so vigilant and aware of what is happening around you!

I hope this was both enlightening and enjoyable for you!  Please, do not misunderstand my desire for awareness and vigilance to be an attack upon those who serve valiantly; this is just a continues warning from the annals of history, which is rooted in our Country’s founding.

So Many Book, So Little Time…

THE STORY OF PHILOSOPHY by Will Durant

If interested in philosophy, this is an interesting book which gives some background information on those masters of philosophy.  From Plato and Aristotle to James and Dewey; these are the men and masters throughout the history of the world that people have quoted and lived their words.  People and cultures have based their ideals upon their words, as well as, the liberties and rights of their people were hinged on such words of wisdom.  This book is a classic account of the lives and opinions of the great philosophers of the Western world.
